The Minnesota Divorce & Family Law Blog posted an article last month titled: Staying Ahead of the Curve: 12 Proactive Steps To Take If You Are Contemplating Divorce. I urge you to read the article. It gives good advice about getting information needed for a divorce BEFORE you file. Sure, it’s basic stuff, but it’ll be very important to your lawyer.
Get critical data before it disappears. Tax returns, financial statements, pay stubs, financial statement, and insurance policies to name a few. The obvious problem with waiting to get that information through your lawyer is that it’s expensive and time-consuming.
So if you’re thinking about divorcing, get your paperwork together now.

The post has many real facts that people do not do before divorcing! it is an important thing. I liked the post too much!

For people seeking divorce they should read this article in order to know better?
The can't find it through solicitors and counselors because they are not there to tell but they are there to make money. Which is a harsh truth to swallow. In fact divorce is such a big issue that one must know about it because it has a very bad consequences on the whole family.
A good article. Keep it up..

Very good advice, divorce is hard enough to go through without the added stress of all the information you have to give as well as the financial cost involved, so being prepared is a good way to be.

I really don't think the importance of properly organizing and handling your paperwork can be overstated. Thanks for the interesting link.

I practice law in Northern Virginia, with an emphasis in my work on collaborative divorce, divorce mediation, and uncontested divorce. Good stuff.
