Excellent food for thought! Many couples don't realize how many hurdles must be overcome before one is "free and clear" from their partner after a divorce. On top of feeling like hell over the emotional trauma, there is much to do and prepare for! Where kids are involved, it's a heck of a lot tougher too.

This a great brief for people just entering the process of separation and divorce. If you need any specific information for your state's statutes on any issue you can find them at www.divorcerecoverysuite.com

credit card assistance

Yes, it is especially difficult to maintain your good credit history when going though a divorce. Even worse it is if you go into it without any credit history established if, for example, all credit cards were in the name of your spouse. Divorce is a major deal in today's society and it has become very common. But that does not mean that you should follow the heard. If you still love him, then try to do everything you can to save your relationship. Spells can also help.

Here are a few things you should NOT do also: Don't pay off any of your spouse’s debt. Don't take any loans in your name to cover community debts. Don't let your spouse's lifestyle improve; conversely don't let your lifestyle diminish.

DO NOT open any new bank accounts until after you legally separate. Judges frown on this practice and will become very suspicious of any individuals who do this too early in the process

Hi Al, great post. I am going to put a link on my blog about it. I am a Texas divorce attorney and although most of the items you listed seem like common sense it is amazing how many of them can be overlooked by someone going through a divorce. Anyone about to divorce would be wise to read and re-read this post VERY carefully.

It is an interesting matter. Marriage is a life long relation. So we should not try to break it. We should try to make it strong. Because divorce affects by badly of the children.

A simple video of the assets in your home will help you when dividing up property in the court room. Make sure you include proof of the date in the video. Example: Newspaper, US Mail seal with date, Cell phone date and time, etc.
